Major Craft Landing Shaft Compact
The LS-300CP from Major Craft is built for light-game fishing in Japan but is perfect for the European fishing styles in both fresh and salt water and the landing of fish from awkward and high places. The telescopic handle is equipped with a sturdy aluminium butt cap that can be unscrewed to access the individual sections for cleaning dirt that can enter.
The female threaded part that is attached to the handle is very strong and stood firm in tests, showed no signs of weakness and was resistant to landing a sea bass that fitted into the net. To prevent the sections from spreading, a solid rubber stopper fits securely into the head handle.
The landing net is made of non-knotted rubber mesh and can be legally used in our European waters on both fresh and salt water. If you use rubber mesh, it is less likely that your hooks get stuck. The net dries quickly and is not drenched with the smell of fish. The aluminium frame of the net is collapsible by means of 3 strong hinged parts and can thus be stored nicely.
What you have to pay attention to is that the Landing Shaft Compact from Major Craft is equipped with Japanese thread and that is unfortunately not compatible with landing nets and handles from the UK or EU, so always make sure you have an adapter from Major Craft used.
Then you will not be faced with unpleasant surprises. One-handed operation is simple simply by pressing the rubber stop that holds the sections together with your thumb and then pointing the net down in the direction of the water so that the sections can slide out easily.
