The Favorite Cobalt is a highly popular, budget-friendly series of multipurpose spinning rods designed for both saltwater and freshwater shore fishing. Known for their moderate-fast action, they offer excellent casting distance and the backbone needed to control fish from a distance.
Key Features
- Blank construction: Built with a sensitive carbon blank that relays excellent feedback from lures, combined with a steely mid and lower section for strong hook-sets.
- Guides: Equipped with single-leg SiC (Silicon Carbide) lined guides designed to handle thicker fluorocarbon leaders without tangles.
- Handle: Features ergonomic cork-effect EVA grips and a shaped screw winch.
- CBL-802ML (7'8" / 5-18g): Ideal for lighter inshore saltwater fishing, perch, or casting smaller lures in harbours.
- CBL-902M (9' / 9-28g): The go-to model for UK and Irish shore anglers, highly regarded as an entry-level bass, wrasse, and pollack rod.
- CBL-902MH (9' / 15-35g): Excellent for targeting larger predators like pike and zander in freshwater, or heavier saltwater environments.
- CBL-902H / CBL-962H (20-50g): Heavy-duty models meant for punching out heavier lures, surf fishing, or larger pelagics.
