The Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leader is designed for use with thinner diameter mono mainlines or ultra fine braid and absorbs the immense pressure imparted on the line when long range casting. Each leader is 15m long and will suit all lengths of surf rod and casting style.
If you want to maximise your surf casting distance, one of the simplest and most cost effective ways to do it is to use a thinner main line with a stronger mono shock leader. For trouble free efficient performance, a tapered shock leader like the Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leader is the favoured option. You get maximum strength at the front end of the leader, to absorb the initial shock of the cast, but a thinner knot where it joins your main line enabling the line to run freely through your rod guides.
The Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leader has a super smooth finish, minimising friction as it moves through the rod guides, and a high abrasion resistance and excellent knot strength to cope with the excessive stress caused by the longest casts. Available in both transparent and a high visibility orange colour, in a variety of different taper sizes to enable you to choose the correct option for you main line size, using the Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leader is guaranteed to increase your casting distances when compared to using heavy main line.
