Saturday 25 Jan saw the first leg of our shore league for 2025. After the extreme weather on Friday, the beach at Waterfoot was in surprisingly good shape with only a bit of weed at the high number pegs. Here's our recorders report.
Venue: Waterfoot 1700-2200hrs
Tide/sea-state: Fished three hours up and two down in a relatively calm Redbay.
Weather: Blustery and very cold with occasional freezing rain.
Species caught: flounder, rockling, whiting, coalie, codling and little pollack.
Despite some high scores, the venue fished in frantic short bursts with anglers recording three or four fish in a couple of casts then a few casts with nothing before another couple of busy casts.
