Looking back at 2015, looking forward to 2016. Angling from the past to the future.

Well another year comes to an end and the start of 2016 will be with us shortly with all the promises and hopes with it. The salmon run on most Irish rivers was a disappointment with a lot of catchments reporting quite a few blank days in perfect water conditions. Pike fishing has come back to near it's heady heights of the mid 1990's when catches of six or seven doubles were common place. This fishing along with where the fish are caught is always kept as secretive as possible as commercial exploitation and fish munchers will quickly empty a fishery of this delicate and susceptible species. We have complete set ups for pike fishing or individual rods and reels at our website www.fishingtackle2u.co.uk or call into our stores Belfast Angling Centre or Mckees Angling Centre .

Big game fishing in Donegal bay has taken off in some style this year in late summer, autumn and early winter with Blue Fin Tuna being the target species. We have now started to stock all the gear for next year as we were classically caught 'on the hop' this year and could not cope with demand. We have already brought in the bigger reels for this purpose and you can find these at   Have a look at the Okuma Makaira Reels Wowww!!!

Our own shore competition fishing reached a pinnacle this year when we achieved a well deserved bronze medal at Fips-m World shore fishing championship held in Portugal.

Well folks, see y'all in the new year and good luck for all future fishing sessions.
