The gathering of NIFSA anglers proved very fruitful but not very productive in fish terms at Cushendun tonight. 25 Anglers turned up for this fun event with a slight edge of competition to it as it was being fished for longest flat and round fish.
A lovely mild calm day with very little fish about allowed anglers to walk the beach and have a yarn with one another and get to know the new anglers that have just joined the Federation.
Eventually there were a few fish caught and winner of the biggest flatfish with a plaice at 35cm was Nicholas McNeill. Winner of the biggest round fish was Stephen Hodge with a coalfish of 29cm.
A very enjoyable evening indeed.
