First competition of the new NIFSA league got underway

The first competition of the new NIFSA league got underway on Portrush’s East Strand beach last night. 28 Anglers fish in quite calm condition, up and over high tide and mainly in darkness. The full moon had quite an impact with very little fish in some pegs. Zone A winner was Harry Mckee Jnr with 27 fish mainly small coalies. Zone A runner up was Gareth Bell with 22 fish. Zone B winner was Harry Mckee Snr with 11 fish mainly small coalies and turbot to 26cm. Zone B runner up was Karl McCullough with 7 fish. Longest flat went to Gareth Bell with a flounder of 33cm. And of course the longest round went to Jānis Liseckis for a bass of 36cm. Great craic with a good mixture of competition and social interaction. Well done all.
