Saturday 27 Feb saw our first shore match of our new league at Waterfoot. As a thank you to those who continue to support us, our organisation dropped the entry fee of this match to £10 and we added £1000 to the prize pot to pay out big money for top three placings overall as well as for longest fish prizes and a lucky peg draw.
Here's our recorders report.
Daiwa shore league matchday one 2024.
Venue: Waterfoot 1700-2200
Tide: fished 1.5hrs down and 3.5hrs up
Weather/sea-state: Blustery but dry night which created a moderate surf containing a bit of weed/debris.
Species caught: flounder, rockling, coalie, cod and whiting.
This was a big spring tide so we fished over the bottom and up. Fishing was quite slow to start but improved as the tide quickly pushed us off the sand and back onto the stones.
